HERBERT HOOVER'S HOMETOWN

Herbert Clark Hoover, the 31st President of the United States of America (March 4, 1929 – March 4, 1933), was born in West Branch on August 10, 1874 to Quaker blacksmith Jesse Clark Hoover and his wife, Hulde Minthorn Hoover.


Hoover’s birthplace cottage, burial plot, and Presidential Library-Museum provide a unique and interesting opportunity to explore history in West Branch, Iowa.
